Module 8- Blog Video Review

1. Explain why you selected the video you choose from the selection listed above.

I chose the Greek art video because I thought it had more mythological concepts.

2. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned.

The first video explained how our brain creates art using what we find attractive so artwork that we make would always resemble what we find beautiful.
Greek art once had a very religious look on their art work they focused on the Gods and royals so did their architecture and the way they built churches but now their form is based off of humans and their development and the art tells a story.

3. How do the videos relate to the readings in the text?

The readings talked about how human body develops and they give more details into how this can be used in art.

4. What is your opinion of the films? How do they add depth to understanding of the readings and art concepts?
I really loved watching the More Human then Human video because I do love learning about how neurology plays a big role in art and how it contributes to us and our work.

1. -What art is -Definition of Aesthetics -Art History -Different Philosophers 2. Plato, he believed that art is just an imitation of a real-life object. I agree with this because if you're making a video you're reproducing images used in real-life, if you're making a painting it is based on a real-life experience except that it is altered. 3. I love how they used science as a way to explain aesthetics because when I think of it I think of it as a style and they went over and beyond to create research to prove their facts.It captured my attention seeing the different ways that our brain works when it sees a piece of art and how it reacts to it because this proves that aesthetic is a form of beauty and our brain captures certain images to process it and see if it fits our taste but most of the time all this happens in a matter of seconds and it occurs subconsciously which is the best part because we can't control it. 4. 1. Describe Color and it's effects on emotions. Use the appropriate vocabulary of color in your posting. -Soft colors, also known as warm colors pertain to reds, yellows and oranges. These types of colors are the types that cause different emotions depending on how you look at it. For example: red may be looked at as a elegant and fierce color, but in some images it may be used to describe anger or distress. 2. What is a theoretical aspect of color that most intrigues/fascinates you? Why? -A theoretical aspect of color that fascinates me is that some words or school subjects have a color registered in our minds. Also that some colors can make us feel hungry. Logo Design

1. Discuss what you thought about creating your logo. I'm not an artistic person so this was not only a frustrating process it was also very difficult because I had to force myself to be creative and find something that's significant to me. 2. Describe the process: creative thinking skills and ideas you used in the logo creation. At first I thought it was supposed to be a logo of my name so it was hard to figure out an object that represented me and it fit all 8 letters of my name. I settled with doing my nickname which I got in my sophomore year of high school. It's "Jelly" and I got it because I had an art teacher who refused to pronounce my name correctly after my correcting him multiple times. He used to call me "Najelly" and my friends decided it was a good nickname.
