During my research this mask attracted my attention because of its shape, the eyes being a different colors and its obnoxious smile. The fact that the shape of the face seems to be bloated at the bottom makes it seem disproportionate which I think makes the viewer feel uncomfortable which is the point.

I liked this mask because it reminded me of the Bleach anime that I used to watch when I was younger. I also chose this mask because of the vibrant red and white color. I also have a cat so I love cats so of course I choose anything cats. The simple line designs add to the contrast of the face.

This Naurto mask is what mostly inspired my mask because it isn't traditional it doesn't have an eye hole or a breathing hole it's just a mask that covers the face. This mask has balance because of all the textures and how the two colors go together.

03. Upload images of your sketchs and finished piece.
This is my first sketch that I didn't finish because it wasn't as good as I anticipated it.

This is my final sketch which is so much better. As you can see I didn't exactly include any holes for breathing and I did take the shape of the first mask. I didn't color it or do anything fancier because I felt like it would take over the shapes that I drew on the face. Another element that I borrowed from the first mask was half of the face being slightly different than the other.
5. Share your opinion of your finished mask and what you thought about creating the mask.
Creating my own mask was fun yet difficult. It was fun doing the research and seeing many different designs, it was fun letting my creativity flow and have my own design but it was also difficult to not fully copy another piece..

Changeux and Ramachandran scientific view of aesthetic

1.  -What art is -Definition of  Aesthetics -Art History -Different Philosophers 2. Plato, he believed that art is just an imitation of a real-life object. I agree with this because if you're making a video you're reproducing images used in real-life, if you're making a painting it is based on a real-life experience except that it is altered.  3. I love how they used science as a way to explain aesthetics because when I think of it I think of it as a style and they went over and beyond to create research to prove their facts. It captured my attention seeing the different ways that our brain works when it sees a piece of art and how it reacts to it because this proves that aesthetic is a form of beauty and our brain captures certain images to process it and see if it fits our taste but most of the time all this happens in a matter of seconds and it occurs subconsciously which is the best part because we can't control it.  4. Both the videos and the artic...

Color my emotions

1. Describe Color and it's effects on emotions. Use the appropriate vocabulary of color in your posting. -Soft colors, also known as warm colors pertain to reds, yellows and oranges. These types of colors are the types that cause different emotions depending on how you look at it. For example: red may be looked at as a elegant and fierce color, but in some images it may be used to describe anger or distress.  2. What is a theoretical aspect of color that most intrigues/fascinates you? Why? -A theoretical aspect of color that fascinates me is that some words or school subjects have a color registered in our minds. Also that some colors can make us feel hungry. This is interesting because I've never thought of it in this depth. The furthest I thought of a color was "What's your favorite color?" or "Does this color go with me?" 3. In the Color video, what made the biggest impact on you in regards to color and it's effects on emotions? -The bi...

Logo Design

1. Discuss what you thought about creating your logo. I'm not an artistic person so this was not only a frustrating process it was also very difficult because I had to force myself to be creative and find something that's significant to me.  2. Describe the process: creative thinking skills and ideas you used in the logo creation. At first I thought it was supposed to be a logo of my name so it was hard to figure out an object that represented me and it fit all 8 letters of my name. I settled with doing my nickname which I got in my sophomore year of high school. It's "Jelly" and I got it because I had an art teacher who refused to pronounce my name correctly after my correcting him multiple times. He used to call me "Najelly" and my friends decided it was a good nickname. After I chose that name I was originally going to make it in the shape of a jam bottle but it was hard to design in so I did it in a gel shape. 3. What was the most important ...
