Mask Making

1. Upload the three (3) inspiration images to your Blog (or link to your Photobucket account).  Explain why you selected the inspiration pieces. During my research this mask attracted my attention because of its shape, the eyes being a different colors and its obnoxious smile. The fact that the shape of the face seems to be bloated at the bottom makes it seem disproportionate which I think makes the viewer feel uncomfortable which is the point.  I liked this mask because it reminded me of the Bleach anime that I used to watch when I was younger. I also chose this mask because of the vibrant red and white color. I also have a cat so I love cats so of course I choose anything cats. The simple line designs add to the contrast of the face. This Naurto mask is what mostly inspired my mask because it isn't traditional it doesn't have an eye hole or a breathing hole it's just a mask that covers the face. This mask has balance because of all the textures and how

How do the videos relate to the readings in the text? This video relates to the reading because they both talk about how sculpting and architecture go hand in hand. 3. What is your opinion of the films? How do they add depth to understanding of the topics: Sculpture, Installation, and Craft?  The video called Through the Eyes of a Sculptor was more interesting than the Glass and Ceramics video because it showed you them creating different pieces and the lady was showing us around how the students learn it and the precision it takes and why it is easier for her. The Glass and Ceramics

Exploring Line

1. What was it like using your hand as subject matter for a drawing? It was kind of confusing because I needed both hands, one to hold the paper and one to draw, but I wasn't able to do that. It was also difficult for me to draw with my non-dominant hand but I believe I did a good job 2. What media did you select - pencil or charcoal? Why? Pencil because this was a difficult  task that I didn't want to mess up and start all over. 3. How did it feel to create a drawing with your non-dominant hand? -Uncomfortable but it was also easy because it was a sketch with just lines 4. Compare and contrast your final drawings. Do you think they are successful studies? I think I did a great job for the circumstance. Although the first hand is straighter than the bottom one. 5. Would you consider using your non-dominant hand to create artwork in the future? -No way unless I'm trying to imitate a baby's artwork
